As one of the founding partners of The Strategic Counsel, Timothy
Woolstencroft's research experience spans both public and private sectors.
His expertise regularly involves him in a broad spectrum of research projects,
particularly in the financial services, government, and telecommunications
sectors. Tim has undertaken longterm comprehensive brand positioning
and tracking for clients such as Air Canada, CN North America, Microsoft,
RBC Financial Group, Vale Inco, and the Government of Canada, and has
also done a number of behaviorbased and marketsegmentation studies
for a variety of clients. A client recently commented on Tim's qualitative
moderation skills as being able to "draw blood from a stone".
Tim typically undertakes over 200 focus groups a year.
Tim has been in the marketresearch field for close to twenty years.
After earning an MBA from the Ivey Business School at University of Western
Ontario, he joined Decima Research as vicepresident in the late 1980s,
moving to Toronto from Ottawa, where he had been executive assistant to
the federal Minister of External Relations.
Next to public affairs, travel is Tim's other abiding interest. However,
with three boys, one in JK, Grade 1 and Grade 3, he figures it will be
a few years yet before he holidays in Bali or one of the other exotic
locales he favors.
