A Major Transportation Company faces significant engagement challenges among its 30,000 employees

Challenge:  Our client faced a challenging internal employee climate.  Employees have been traumatized by the significant number of corporate restructurings resulting from a difficult economic circumstance coupled with tremendous competition. In this context, the client wanted to re-configure the culture of the organization.  With this in mind, senior executive management wanted to understand employee engagement to determine what was required to improve employee engagement.

Solution: The Strategic Counsel undertook focus groups with employees and telephone tracking surveys on a broad range of employee engagement measures to identify the challenges and potential actions to help improve the internal employee climate.

Results: The research has been extensively used by senior management to take serious short-term and longer term actions to improve employee engagement and assist in the change management process.
